The practice is a partnership of Michael McGarry and Siobhán Ní Éanaigh and was founded in 1984. Both partners are Fellows of the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland and Members of the Royal Institute of British Architects. Michael McGarry is a registered architect with the Architects’ Registration Board of the United Kingdom. The practice McGarry Ní Éanaigh Architect is a registered practice of the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland.
Both partners confirm the following:
- Neither is the subject of proceedings for a declaration of bankruptcy, for an order for compulsory winding-up or examinership or any other similar proceedings under the law of any other jurisdiction and has not made any arrangement with creditors.
- Neither has been convicted of an offence relating to its professional conduct under a judgment which has the force of res judicata.
- Neither has been found to have been guilty of professional misconduct or improper practice by any relevant professional or regulatory body.
- Both have fulfilled all obligations relating to the payment of social security contributions in Ireland
- Both have fulfilled all obligations relating to the payment of taxes in Ireland.
- Professional indemnity insurance up to the appropriate level is maintained.
Both partners are committed to implementing and to systematic review of the partnership’s key policies on health and safety, the environment, accessibility and quality / project management.
- Environmental policy: We are conscious of our fundamental duty to act responsibly with respect to the environment and future generations. We are committed to a process of continual learning and active participation in programmes which foster sustainable design - be it through seeking to apply theoretical models or in the specification of timber from sustainably managed forests using accredited systems, like the Forest Stewardship Council.
- Accessibility policy: We are conscious of our pivotal role in forming the built environment for all in an inclusive and equitable manner. We are aware of our responsibilities set out under the Building Control Acts as it relates to the implementation of accessible design. We see the implementation of universal access for all as a goal to be attained both to the letter of our obligations and in spirit.
- Quality policy: By means of the development and implementation of our quality management system the practice demonstrates clear and managed systematic working methods. This system, which complies with the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001: 1994, is subject to constant review to ensure its continuing effectiveness and relevance to the practice’s requirements and to provide for continual improvement.
- Health and safety policy: We acknowledge the crucial role a positive health and safety policy plays in our practice and we are committed to maintaining high standards for health and safety in our workplace, in our design and in all work related activities. Good health and safety practices are vital to an effective, responsible and profitable organization.
